Meeting Miss Avery
What a joy it was to deliver this gallery.
I remember the emotions I felt when I finally met my baby boy. Nothing compares to the immensity of that love.
It was evident from the time I walked through the threshold of the Lindsey home that both Carrie and Jay [and their protective pups] were feeling it too.
Avery was a perfect little model during our Friday morning shoot. She made my "Good Friday" really great. :) I had such a blast hanging out with this family, getting to know them. As it turns out, we have quite a bit in common.
Both Carrie and Jay are teachers, like Nick and myself. Carrie teaches first grade while I teach second in Santa Rosa County. Both of our husbands are sports junkies, holding head coach positions at their schools. Which brings me to another exciting piece of news... aside from welcoming home a precious baby girl, Jay was also named head football coach at Tate... talk about a busy week!
It's unreal. Watching new parents, at home, with their newborn baby.
Seeing the love in their eyes, the way they hold her with the utmost care, looking into a gorgeous nursery that they poured their hearts into. It's such a privilege to watch it all unfold.
Avery. So tiny. I think her Daddy was afraid she might break. It was precous. <3
Carrie, the exact opposite. Couldn't get enough lovin' out of this child to satisfy her need.
And isn't that what it's all about? Watching them swoon over this baby was [melt my heart] perfection. I wouldn't have thought that I could see anything else as wonderful that day.
Then Jay announced that HE was going grocery shopping. Hold the phone. What?!? Carrie and I got busy on Avery's portraits... then Daddy reappeared and started cooking. And I'm talking about COOKING. Literally squeezing juice out of fruit and chopping vegetables!!
I love my husband. Dearly. And he can make a mean chicken alfredo... but GAH! A man holding his teeny tiny newborn girl is enough to make anyone swoon. Toss him in the kitchen, whipping up a feast and it's like watching the best chick flick ever--in real time!
[unfortunately I did not get a picture of Dad in the kitchen, sorry ladies]
But- his beautiful wife and I did get busy wrapping, posing, and snapping some great shots of Miss Avery.
I love it when parents have something special in mind. Seeing as how Avery was born right before Easter, we had to incorporate the holiday in her very first photo shoot. We followed that up with Mommy's old ballet slippers [so sweet] and my very favorite... the wedding accessories. This was beyond special to me. Little Avery, wrapped in lace from Mommy + Daddy's wedding day, complete with the sash Mommy wore tied in a neat bow. I just love it.
And of course, a newborn shoot isn't complete without those little hands and feet. :)
[To Carrie + Jay] Thank you for inviting me into your home. Allowing me to capture these priceless images for you and your family is a big deal to me. I hope I get the pleasure of watching this little one grow from behind the lens. Before I go, I will leave you with two of my favorites for our session. One jumped out to me because of it's simplicity, the other because it was just real, and in the moment.
